MAKKAH – Under the patronage of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region, will inaugurate Saturday the 13th Makkah Conference organized by the Muslim World League (MWL). The two-day conference, called “Muslim Community … Established Values and Changes”, will be attended by eminent scholars, professors, and directors of Islamic centers. Dr. Abdullah Al-Turki, MWL Secretary-General, said the topic of the conference was chosen because the Ummah needs to know the correct and proper way to deal with the established values of Shariah and the changes that have occurred in some Muslim countries. “This will make Muslims come together to preserve their cultural unity and show the world their true Islamic values,” he said. The conference focuses on four topics. The first topic, “Muslim community”, will discuss the issues of Muslim and non-Muslim minorities. The second topic, “Established values and changes”, will focus on the concept of an established value in a contemporary society and the changes taking place. The third topic, “Contemporary challenges”, will discuss established cultural values and the changes in social, economic, and political values. The fourth topic concerns the reforms in a Muslim community. – SPA
