MUMBAI – Amir Khan, a leading Indian actor, director and producer in Bollywood, will be performing Haj this year. Khan, who is riding high on the success of his reality show “Sataymev Jayte”, will be accompanied by his mother. He is expected to come to Saudi Arabia today. Talking to a leading newspaper in India, Khan said that his mother had wanted to perform Haj for quite some time, but for some reason or the other it kept getting delayed. Asked if he ever had thoughts about going on this holy pilgrimage, Khan said he had also often thought about it. To perform Haj, a woman should be accompanied by either her husband, father, brother or son, Khan said, adding that his mother's father and husband have passed way and she has no brothers, so it was left upon him or his brother Faisal to accompany her for Haj. According to Khan, he is more than happy to accompany his mother, as it has also given him an opportunity to perform the journey of a lifetime. – SG
