Abdul Rahman Al-Ali Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – About 1,030 Red Crescent paramedics, 510 ambulances, 54 doctors, 29 specialists and 284 orderlies will be working during the Haj season, said Ahmad Barayan, spokesman for the Saudi Red Crescent Society. Over 152 first-aid service centers have been set up along the Kingdom's major highways, Barayan added. These arrangements come in line with the directives of Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah, Chairman of the Saudi Red Crescent Society Commission, who has approved this year's Haj program and ordered all equipment and human resources be mobilized to their maximum. “We have set up ambulance stations at Makkah, Madinah and the ritual sites as well as along sea ports and main roads. Highly-qualified paramedics, doctors and drivers together with advanced equipment have been placed on standby." The society's fleet of air ambulance aircraft will participate in this year's plan and will be run and maintained by highly-qualified technical team, Barayan said.
