Mishal Al-Otaibi Okaz/Saudi Gazette RIYADH — The Ministry of Labor has asked a jewelry company to reinstate a Saudi HR employee who was fired for allegedly leaking incorrect information that caused harm to the company. The Saudi had worked for four years with the company, and was wrongfully terminated despite his dedication to work, and his keenness on promoting the Saudization program within the company. The criminal court has acquitted the citizen of the charge. The plaintiff claimed that he was wrongfully terminated 19 months ago and submitted a complaint to the preliminary committee for the settlement of labor disputes in Riyadh, which reviewed arguments of both sides, and issued its decision forcing the company to reinstate him in his previous position, and pay his accrued salaries from the date of his termination until his return to work. The company's lawyer appealed the decision with the High Commission for the Settlement of Labor Disputes in the Ministry of Labor. The documents that the company submitted against him were official documents he had submitted to the labor office that confirmed the company's falsification of the Saudization requirements. The ministry issued its decision for the company to remunerate him with SR60,000 and return him to his job.
