Hatim Al-Masoudi Okaz/Saudi Gazette MAKKAH — The Tawafa Establishment for Arab Pilgrims has set up four field teams to receive Syrian pilgrims on their arrival from neighboring countries after the Ministry of Haj announced that prospective Syrian pilgrims could enter the Kingdom through these countries. Chairman of the establishment, Faisal Bin Muhammad Nouh, said the teams were ready to receive the Syrian pilgrims on arrival at the entry points. The annual pilgrimage quota for Syria is 23,000. “In case the Syrian pilgrims cannot come from their own country, they may be traveling from countries hosting Syrian refugees, such as Jordan, Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt and others,” he said. Nouh said the establishment has prepared an emergency plan in coordination with the Ministry of Haj in case the pilgrims arrive late. Locations for the Syrian pilgrims in Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah have already been specified, said another establishment official. “These locations are equipped with all necessary services to allow the Syrian pilgrims to perform the rituals in ease and comfort,” he said.
