SHANGHAI — Two-time defending champion Andy Murray beat Roger Federer in a rain-affected semifinal 6-4, 6-4 Saturday to set up a rematch of the US Open final against Novak Djokovic at the Shanghai Masters. Djokovic moved into his 10th final of the year by beating fourth-seeded Tomas Berdych 6-3, 6-4 in the earlier semifinal. Murray broke Federer in the fifth game of the first set but then wasted seven break points in the first game of the second, as the top-ranked Swiss managed to hold serve before a brief rain delay interrupted the match. But Federer couldn't stave off Murray as he again broke to go up 3-2, but the US Open champion had to endure one more rain delay before serving out the match. The players went off the court for about 30 minutes at 5-4, while organizers closed the eight-petal magnolia-shaped roof. When play resumed, Murray only needed five points to finish off the match. Djokovic is looking for his fifth title of the year and second straight after winning in Beijing last week. Against Berdych, he hit 25 winners and converted all three of his break points to improve his head-to-head record against the Czech player to 10-1. It was Djokovic's tour-leading 69th victory of the year. Azarenka-Goerges final Top-ranked Victoria Azarenka reached her ninth final of the season Saturday and will play Julia Goerges for the title at the Generali Ladies event at Linz, Austria. In the semifinals, Azarenka beat Irina-Camelia Begu of Romania 6-2, 6-1, and Goerges rallied to defeat Kirsten Flipkens of Belgium 1-6, 6-2, 6-3. Azarenka is on a winning streak of 12 matches, and yet to concede a set. She won in Beijing last week for her 12th career title and pulled out before the quarterfinals at Tokyo the week before. In Linz, she hasn't dropped more than two games in any set. The 19th-ranked Goerges, who also reached the final in Dubai in February, dropped serve three times and double-faulted on set point against Flipkens. She settled with an early break in the second and dominated the rest of the match. Chang stuns Stosur Chang Kai-chen of Taiwan stunned top-seeded Sam Stosur of Australia 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (3) on Saturday to advance to the final of the Japan Open in Ozaka. The 21-year-old Chang will face Britain's Heather Watson in Sunday's final after she defeated local favorite Misaki Doi of Japan 7-6 (2), 7-5 in their semifinal.
