MAIDUGURI — A worker at a hospital in northeast Nigeria says officials turned away bodies because their morgue ran out of space after soldiers opened fire and killed more than 30 civilians. The worker said Tuesday that the Maiduguri General Hospital collected 32 bodies following violence Monday in the northeastern city. The worker said the remaining bodies were taken to nearby Umaru Shehu Ultra-Modern Hospital. Soldiers apparently attacked a neighborhood after a nearby bombing Monday killed a lieutenant. Military officials have declined to comment about the attack. — AP
