NEW YORK — Denver Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams was suspended by the National Football League for three games Friday, stretching his overall ban for the ongoing season to nine games. Williams was already serving a six-game suspension because of a violation of the NFL's banned-substance policy. The extra three games were for a conviction for driving while impaired last August. Williams has been the leading tackler for the Broncos in five of his eight NFL seasons. But he will not be eligible to play this season until the Broncos play host to San Diego on November 18. — AP
