Jizan Chief of Police, Major General Ahmad Gharmallah Al-Gazza warned against unaimed firing of arms to celebrate weddings, adding that violators will be penalized. Spokesperson for the Jizan Police, Ahmad Al-Wad'ani said residents of villages and mountain areas have celebrated weddings and other celebrations with gun-fire into the air. He said firing the weapons is a violation of firearm laws and high voltage towers may be damaged. w Several people have been hurt recently by errant gunfire during celebrations in the past month. The victims were not attending the celebrations but they were elsewhere when they were struck by the errant bullets. He added that secret patrols have been deployed to track violators. – Okaz __
