TAIF — Prince Sultan Bin Salman, President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), has praised the fast development of the historic Souk Okaz. He said Souk Okaz was not only a piece of heritage or culture but also an important component of the Kingdom's civilization and history. He also hailed the Souk's activities, pointing out that the SCTA has taken over the responsibility of the Souk as it is an archeological site. He said the officials at the SCTA are working on a plan to invest in the area and preserve the antiquities and natural environment at the Souk's site. He also discussed Makkah Emir Prince Khaled's comprehensive vision for the site and his directive to construct a street parallel to Okaz Street. He suggested Prince Khaled name the existing road History Street and the new road Future Street. He said Future Street depicts the country's cultural and development activities witnessed in all walks of life under the leadership of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. — SG/SPA
