JEDDAH — Al-Nahdi Medical Company (NMC), a leading Saudi pharmaceutical chain, has completed the first phase of a campaign to employ 500 young Saudis at its sales outlets across the country. The company launched the program to attract young Saudis and train them to join the national cadre by honing their skills and capabilities. The NMC held a number of events to welcome the new employees and introduce them to their roles in the company. Al-Nahdi Academy, which plays a pivotal role in molding the company's current and future employees, will help the young Saudis refine their skills and abilities to climb the ladder in their career life. The new staff members were briefed about affirmative action behavior, explaining the nature of each job, defining the objectives of the training and what the company expects from them. Hosam Al-Qurashi, senior director Marketing and External Affairs at NMC, clarified that the new employees will fill the posts of assistant pharmacists and cashiers at Al-Nahdi pharmacies in various parts of the Kingdom. “This move will be followed by similar steps until we reach our goal to recruit over 500 young people in various fields,” Al-Qurashi said. “Nationalizing jobs is the core of our strategic plan and has always been in the forefront of our priorities. We aspire to be the best employer , in order to support the government's efforts in eliminating unemployment, and activating the role of youth in the development of the community,” he added. The NMC is offering three job categories, including 50 dermatology and beauty specialists, 250 assistant pharmacists, and 200 cashiers to Saudi nationals. The NMC is a market leader in the sale and distribution of medicines, children accessories and medical equipment. It employs 3,000 people in this pharmaceutical network spread across 72 Saudi cities and towns. — SG
