It was a deadly morning in Makkah Sunday as four Bangladeshi workers were killed and one injured in a wall collapse. One worker is still missing.Preliminary investigation revealed that the pressure from the huge accumulated sand against the 20-meter long concrete wall, being built on a little cliff overlooking Al-Awali District, caused it to fall on the cleaners. The wall rose 12-meter high above the ground. It fell on four cleaning Bangladeshi workers on the ground while they were doing their morning street-cleaning service and on their two cleaning vehicles with two co-workers inside. Rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after the accident had been reported. On the ground, three cleaners were pulled out from the debris dead and one alive with a broken leg and was immediately transferred to a hospital. One of the two co-workers inside one garbage vehicle was killed as part of the wall collapsed on the vehicle cabin where he was waiting for his co-workers to finish collecting the garbage and drive away. The excavation of the bodies from the debris took more than six hours. Fifty cleaning workers cleared the accident scene.Makkah Civil Defense spokesman Lt.Col. Ali Al-Muntasheri confirmed the deaths saying that more investigation is still under way. Okaz __
