An obese Palestinian man was rescued from the Wabar Crater, north of Taif by Civil Defense workers. The 40-year-old obese tourist traveled to the site with three of his expatriate colleagues. The four challenged one another to descend into the crater. The obese man managed to descend the craters steep walls but was unable to come back up the 1500 meter high crater wall. The expatriate was extracted from the crater by Civil Defense workers, Red Crescent and security authorities using a stretcher and ropes after five hours of attempts. Red Crescent paramedics provided the expatriate with first aid when he was pulled out. This is the third Civil Defense rescue this year. Okaz has learnt that the The Civil Defense will submit a report on the condition of the crater in order to find ways to limit the number of accidents occurring at the crater site. – Okaz __
