CAIRO — Egypt's prosecutor has rejected an appeal to transfer ousted President Hosni Mubarak from a prison hospital back to a more comfortable military hospital. Mubarak was sentenced in June to life in prison for failing to stop the killing of hundreds of protesters during last year's uprising against him. After three weeks in a prison hospital, Mubarak was transferred to a top military hospital after reports that his health had deteriorated. He was returned to the prison hospital last month. His family asked for a review, complaining of mistreatment there. After the visit of a human rights delegation this week, the prosecutor general, Abdel-Meguid Mahmoud, rejected the request Wednesday. A statement from his office cited doctors who said the prison hospital was well-equipped to treat Mubarak, who is 84. — AP
