LONDON — The IAAF has said three-time Olympic champion Peter Snell of New Zealand will be among the 24 inaugural members of the international athletics federation's Hall of Fame. Snell won the 800 meters at the 1960 Olympics and — after setting world records in the 800 meters and the mile in the same week in 1962 — won the 800 and the 1,500 double at the Tokyo Olympics in 1964. IAAF President Lamine Diack described Snell as the “greatest ‘flying Kiwi' of them all,” and said he “rightfully earned his selection as one of the inaugural members of the IAAF Hall of Fame.” — AP
