MANILA — Respected Filipino actor John Arcilla was praised for his role, albeit brief, in the Hollywood film “The Bourne Legacy” by no less than director Tony Gilroy himself. Rachel Weisz, the lead actress, also commended Arcilla's portrayal as a security guard. Arcilla said in an interview that Weisz once came up to him to ask him if he has long been acting, to which he answered he was doing theater before venturing into TV and film. “I was so happy, because I read good observations from my director and co-actors, and these are international award-winning actors,” Arcilla told ABS-CBN News. Apart from “The Bourne Legacy,” Arcilla also stars in a British-produced film, “Metro Manila.” He is part of an upcoming local project with John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. The latest installment in the Bourne film franchise is topbilled by Jeremy Renner, who played Hawkeye in “The Avengers” (2012). It will be shown in Philippine theaters beginning August 5. — SG
