Several major events in October will bring the ICT community together in Dubai and cause hotel prices in the Emirate to skyrocket. ITU Telecom World 2012 will be held October 14-18 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC). As the ITU is the leading UN agency for ICT, the event offers a rare forum for discussion among global participants and provides a platform for real business opportunities within the ICT sector. GITEX Technology Week 2012 will take place alongside ITU Telecom World at the same venue. With the economic slump continuing in much of the world and the Gulf countries one of the few bright spots for growth, local decision makers can expect to be courted by at least 3,500 suppliers from 144 countries. Co-located at GITEX is InfoComm MEA 2012, which assembles a wide range of audio visual (AV) systems and technologies. Registration is already open for all these events at their respective websites.
