Mansour Al-Shihri Okaz/Saudi Gazette RIYADH — Security patrols in the Eastern Province arrested a number of rioters, including a wanted fugitive, in the early hours of Friday. According to an Interior Ministry statement, carried by the Saudi Press Agency, the arrests took place at various locations in the Qatif governorate, where a number of “trouble makers" set car tires on fire. “Security patrols dealt with the rioters and brought the situation under control," SPA said, citing an Interior Ministry spokesman. He said several people involved in the rioting were arrested, but did not give an exact number. The detained rioters included Muhammad Kazim Ja'far Al-Shakhouri, who is on a list of 23 wanted men released by the Interior Ministry earlier this year for taking part in confrontations with security forces. Al-Shakhouri was number 20 on the list and his arrest brought the number of men still at large to 16. Nimr Al-Nimr, the alleged instigator of the Qatif unrest, was arrested earlier this month after an encounter with security forces. Four others had surrendered to the authorities. Shah Ali Issa Aal Shoukan, 29, Hussein Ali Abdullah Al-Barraki, 43, Mousa Ja'far Muhammad Al-Mabyoug, 24, and Ali Muhammad Mahdi Khalfan, 27, were released later.
