LONDON — The London Olympic Stadium has been shortlisted for a prestigious British architecture award. The 80,000-seat stadium will compete with five other new buildings for the Royal Institute of British Architects' 20,000 pound (US$31,240) Stirling Prize. The institute praised the building's “simple and elegant detailing," its sustainable design, and the way it provides “a surprisingly intimate relationship with the events" for spectators.
