On Wednesday (today), the committee will organize a campaign, themed ‘Youth is the hope of every nation', which will begin at 5 P.M. along the Corniche when crowds are expected to watch a skills show by jet-skiers. Jeddah Governor Prince Mishal Bin Majid will inaugurate the event – the third national anti smoking campaign in the Makkah region, which is supported by Makkah Emir Prince Khalid Al-Faisal. The anti-smoking campaigners will distribute fliers and also march from Syeda Fatimah mosque in the Corniche to Al-Hamra center, handing out gifts and souvenirs carrying the campaign theme. “We aim to educate the younger generation and the tourists about the dangers of smoking and how it can negatively affect society,” said Abdullah Al-Soruji, executive manager of the anti smoking charitable campaign. He said the campaign includes another event showing how Customs personnel use police dogs to sniff out narcotics and also demonstrating the various ways smugglers hide drugs, Al-Soruji. He said the anti-smoking committee also took part in the recent Jeddah Festival at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry with a film on the dangers of smoking. __
