Saudi Gazette/Okaz DAMMAM — The Ministry of Labor has set July 24 as a deadline for formalizing the new revised policies between the Kingdom and Indonesia aimed at lifting the ban on the recruitment of Indonesian domestic helpers, said Ibrahim Al-Sani, member of the Board of Directors of the Workers Service Company in Dammam. He said the proposed agreement clearly defined the rights of both employers and the workers. Al-Sani said he was not in a position to estimate the cost of recruitment of the workers as supply and demand would determine recruitment fees. However, he added that in the light of the increase in the cost of the recruitment of maids from Ethiopia and Kenya, he expects a similar increase in the salaries of Indonesian maids to occur.
