Abdul Khaliq Al-Ghamdi Okaz/Saudi Gazette AL-BAHA — Al-Baha Civil Defense rescue teams rescued two men who got stuck in a rugged area in the Sadar Bani Yazeed Town on Monday. The two men had ventured into a rugged mountain area while picnicking and were unable to make their way back up. Aided by a helicopter, rescue teams were able to lower harnesses to the men and airlift them to safety. Lt. Col. Jaman Al-Ghamdi, spokesman for Al-Baha Civil Defense, said the two men took a walk in the area but were unable to make their way back up the mountain. When rescue teams arrived at the scene, they were unable to reach the men due to the terrain and called for air support. “We had to call a helicopter to do the job and rescue both men who enjoy perfect health and have not been hurt,” said Al-Ghamdi while calling on the general public to avoid climbing mountains without the proper equipment and training.
