Ahmad Abdullah Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah Region and Chairman of the Subcommittee of Flood and Rain Projects, inspected on Tuesday several sites where flood projects are being implemented. Prince Khaled was briefed during his field visit on the work progress at eight projects including the construction of dams and flood canals in northern, southern and eastern parts of Jeddah. He also met with Saudi engineers supervising these projects and listened to their explanations about the implementation phases. The Emir of Makkah Region watched a visual presentation at the department of the administration of rain and flood projects in Makkah Emirate. He was updated on the phases that have been implemented so far and the remaining phases whose implementation was progressing as scheduled.During the visual presentation, Ahmad Al-Sleem, director of rain and flood projects, Makkah Emirate, provided Prince Khaled with the following statistics: Currently there are 82 project sites supervised by 72 Saudi engineers who also monitor the job of 7,364 workers to ensure that all projects are completed on time; over 45,000 tons of concrete steel and 740,000 cubic meters of ready-made concrete have been used so far at project sites.
