RIYADH — Staff members of Al Faisaliah and Al Khozama, two Rosewood hotels in Riyadh, cleaned the surroundings of the complex to raise environmental awareness. By 7 A.M. Friday, 100 employees gathered at the gates of Hotel Al Khozama in a jovial mood to join the drive. Tee shirts, caps and gloves on, everyone grabbed a garbage bag and went around the designated zone in groups. In one hour, the team came back with 15 bagful of garbage. Erich Steinbock, vice president of Rosewood Hotels and managing director of Al Faisaliah and Al Khozama, said: “We are glad to count on such wonderful and committed staff members. They have demonstrated great interest and a high level of awareness on preserving the environment. We wish this fun action would help spread environmental awareness in the city.” By organizing the cleaning drive, the two Rosewood hotels were emphasizing green action as part of their involvement in the VERDES program, which stands for “Value Earth's Resources and Demonstrate Environmental Sensitivity.” — SG
