Adnan Al-Shabrawi Okaz/Saudi GazetteJEDDAH — Muhammad Al-Issa, Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Higher Judicial Council, has directed the General Court and the Summary Court in Jeddah to expedite looking into corruption cases related to the devastating floods that hit the city in November 2000 and January 2011. He also asked the courts to send copies of the verdicts to the ministry. The directives came after Al-Issa received a letter from Muhammad Al-Shareef, Chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, criticizing undue delays in issuing verdicts in the cases. Currently the courts are trying nine suspects facing corruption charges. The Summary Court was expected to issue verdicts in two cases in the coming weeks.
