Al-Murjan boosts employment of Saudis
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 05 - 07 - 2012

JEDDAH – Al-Murjan Holding Company led the private sector effort at the 2nd Tawteen Exhibition here recently that offered more than 5,000 job opportunities to Saudi males and females in association with the Ministry of Labor, Human Resource Development Fund and Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Unlike typical job fairs, the three-day exhibition encompassed a new national project based on field research and studies of the Saudi private sector job market for nationals, especially the hundreds of scholarship students who are ready for employment.
Dr. Imran Al-Hindi, Executive Director for Human Resources at Al-Murjan Group, said the company gave qualified nationals of both genders the opportunity to join any of its affiliated companies in various specialties. "We offered them adequate opportunities and got a clear picture of their aspirations and readiness to work in the private sector," he said. Al-Murjan Holding stand drew a large number of Saudi graduates and other visitors seeking information on the various job opportunities available, the company's areas of business, its work environment and the qualifying programs, benefits, training and incentives that ensure job stability and a promising future, Dr. Al-Hindi said.
"A broad spectrum of Saudi youth are really talented and have a true desire to work but they lack the knowledge and skills needed for the present-day job market that seeks both scientific and practical capabilities at the same time," Dr. Al-Hindi said. "In that regard, the Tawteen Exhibition offered an opportunity to provide them with the necessary information on the recruitment needs of major companies."
Dr. Al-Hindi said the exhibition makes a good contribution to helping reduce unemployment among Saudi youth, in line with government directives to national companies to enable national workers to participate in the country's development. Al-Murjan Holding Company, owned by the Bin Mahfouz family, is a Saudi conglomerate with diverse business activities, including Arabian Murjan Contracting Company, Al-Kawthar Company for Water Treatment, Murjan for Modem Furniture, Key Rent-a-Car, Balsam for Medical and IT Services, and United Company for inks production. – SG
