JEDDAH – Lup Hang Wong, Managing Director of Guest Service Operation (GSO) of ALJ Toastmasters Club, unveiled its annual magazine at a special function held recently at ACCL (ALJ Center for Continuous Learning) in Jeddah. Wong, in his keynote speech, complimented the editorial board for their efforts that enabled the timely release of the magazine. He lauded the president and executive committee for the extraordinary efforts that gathered momentum in attracting more members to the fore which eventually foster self-confidence and personal growth. He spoke about the importance of "language" and its role as a "buckle" to connect people of different background. He also evinced his interest that had he joined the Toastmasters Club before, he could have mastered the communication and leadership skills. The Club President Riyaz Sarang presided over the function and expressed on behalf of the club, his profound gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Faisal Abdalla, Vice President of ALJ and chief patron of the club, for his unflinching support and guidance. He also said that Mr. Abdalla is our motivating force to achieve higher rungs in the ladder of Toastmasters International. Basheer Ambalavan, Magazine Editor, presented an overview of the magazine and elaborated the magazine theme "Discover your potential." Division-G Governor Maria Teresa Villanueva commended the contributions of ALJ Toastmasters Club in promoting the Toastmasters International in the Kingdom thereby cultivating communication and leadership skills. She extended Division-G's unstinting support to the club. Being one of the oldest clubs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, ALJ club plays significant role among other clubs. ALJ Club bagged several awards and accolades from Area, Division and District levels as well as from the Toastmasters International including the highest recognition "DTM" to its credit. – SG
