JEDDAH – The Consulate General of India, Jeddah, in collaboration with the Jazan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, will be organizing a catalogue show of Indian companies on June 26-27 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the premises of the Jazan Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The show aims at further strengthening trade relations between Saudi Arabia and India. It will also be a good opportunity for entrepreneurs, businessmen and traders in getting firsthand information about investment potential in India. On display will be the catalogues of Indian companies dealing in a wide range of sectors such as textiles/ready-made garments, leather products, spices, food items, electrical and electronic accessories, packaging industry, machinery & equipment, computer software & hardware, stationery, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, medical equipment, agriculture machinery, household appliances, handicrafts, gift items, construction, tourism etc. The event is open to all. In an address to the Saudi Arabia-India Joint Economic Commission in January, Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said “we hope that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be able to assist India in meeting its energy security needs in the years to come.” India-Saudi bilateral trade exceeded $25 billion last year. India imports almost a quarter of its crude oil needs from Saudi Arabia. Mukherjee emphasized that that the trade basket could easily include more non-oil products. – SG
