ABUJA, Nigeria — Nigeria's president has fired two top security officials amid growing unrest in Africa's most populous nation. Spokesman Reuben Abati told journalists late Friday that President Goodluck Jonathan has fired National Security Adviser Andrew Azazi and Minister of Defense Haliru Bello. The announcement comes as Jonathan faces criticism for attending a UN environmental conference in Rio de Janeiro while at least 138 people have died in sectarian violence over the past week. — AP
