The Bali bomb maker Umar Patek has been jailed for 20 years. An Indonesian court convicted the militant of making the explosives used in the deadly 2002 Bali bombing and sentenced him to 20 years in jail. Umar Patek was found guilty of murder and bomb making in connection with the Bali attacks, which killed more than 200 people. However, prosecutors in Norway have called for self-confessed mass killer Anders Behring Breivik to be considered insane in their closing arguments at his trial in Oslo. Breivik killed 77 people and injured 242 on 22 July 2011. Since committing this gruesome crime, he has always been seen happy and smiling just like someone who has won the Nobel Peace Prize! There was disappointment among those Norwegians who were bereaved or injured. They believe that maximum imprisonment would be a more justified outcome for what happened rather than committing him to a ward to be treated for insanity. Breivik himself has repeatedly said that he is not insane and that he had a mission to fulfill. His defense team has said that he should be considered sane and acquitted. Its argument is that he had acted to stop a Muslim invasion of Norway. Families of the victims walked out of the court in protest at the attempt to justify the massacre. The court verdict is expected in August. Does the West think that terrorism is an exclusive property of certain people in other parts of the world and not theirs? If so, how would it define what happened on 22 July 2011, just mercy killing or the act of a lone insane person? S.H. Moulana, Riyadh t
