Al-QASSIM – Municipalities throughout Al-Qassim region sent teams of inspectors to malls this week to ensure that all women's shops are operating in accordance with province laws and regulations that prohibit foreign men under the age of 40 from working there, Al-Watan daily reported. The teams were comprised of workers from three government agencies – the Ministry of Labor, Police and local municipalities. An official from the Ministry of Labor in Al-Qassim said teams had shuttered a number of shops in the Buraidah, Unaizah and Al-Rass governorates after they were found operating in violation of the law. For the first offense, the owner of the shop is asked to sign a document promising to rectify the situation. Subsequent offenses can result in monetary fines, deportation of the expatriate worker(s) and temporary closure of the shop. — SG
