A protester hits the lid of a pot with a ladle at a march against the government's plans of restarting nuclear reactors and raising consumption tax in Tokyo, Sunday. Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda said last Friday he has decided that two idled nuclear reactors in western Japan must be restarted to protect jobs and avoid damage to the economy, adding that steps had been taken to prevent a recurrence of the Fukushima disaster.
