Huawei Broadband roadshowAS the high season of global ICT conferences and awards hits its pinnacle, Huawei has walked away this summer with numerous recognitions for its outstanding contribution to the development of new mobile broadband technology and the advancement of LTE (Long Term Evolution) standards in particular. Among the honors include two recognitions during the 2012 LTE World Summit in the categories of "Most Significant Development for Commercial LTE Network - Vendor" and "Best LTE Core Network Element". Huawei has won award at the LTE World Summit for three consecutive years, demonstrating industry recognition of Huawei's continued contributions to the technologies advancement across the globe. With a string of deployments across the Middle East over the last year, Huawei's LTE solutions have now been chosen by a total of 37 of the world's top 50 operators as the company invested $3.76 billion in its global R&D efforts last year alone. According to a GSA report released in May 2012 (Evolution to LTE), 72 commercial LTE networks have been launched globally. Huawei deployed 34 of them, the most of any other vendor. Within the field of business innovation, Huawei was also recently honored with the "Solution Excellence" award at TM Forum's Management World 2012 conference for its Value Growth Solution; marking the second time Huawei has received the honor. Huawei's SingleRAN was the first industry solution to allow for a sole cabinet to support the interoperability of different networks technologies (GSM/UMTS/LTE) for true convergence, flexible sharing of resources and smooth migration to LTE. Built upon accumulated wireless and IP technologies, Huawei's SingleEPC solution further allows operators to build convergent networks through an Evolved Packet Core (EPC) framework-enhancing LTE business opportunities and accelerating business model innovation in the 4G era.
