eXtra named ‘Best Saudi Company to Work for'
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 09 - 06 - 2012

United Electronics Company (eXtra) announced Friday it has been named the "Best Saudi Company to Work for" in a list compiled by TeamOne Consulting.
Saudi Arabia's fastest-growing consumer electronics and home appliance retailer was ranked first in the exclusive Top 5 of this year's Private-Commercial Sector category. Now in its fifth year, the "Best Saudi Company to Work For" list ranks the best workplace environments at SMEs, large companies and public sector entities across the Kingdom. The list is based on two elements: an employee satisfaction survey and a review of company HR practices.
Five hundred forty full-time eXtra employees participated in the 38-question survey to assess the company across key areas impacting employee satisfaction: Personal Development, Pay & Benefits, and Organizational Culture.
A separate review of HR practices by a panel of experts was then conducted following a site visit. The review measured the performance of eXtra's HR function across seven key areas, such as Training & Learning, and Employee Relations.
"As focused on the customer as we are, eXtra is also deeply proud to be one of the Kingdom's best places to work," said Mohammad Galal, CEO, United Electronics Company (eXtra). "Since its foundation, eXtra has strived to create an environment where employees can acquire new skills and access new professional opportunities. Moreover, eXtra also supports development programs and organizes activities for employees outside of work to build team spirit. It is satisfying to see all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at eXtra to create an outstanding working environment be recognized with this prestigious award."
He added: "We believe that it is the employees that make a company successful, not the other way round. This achievement is the greatest proof of our ability to reach whatever goals we aspire to." – SG
Participation in the "Best Saudi Company To Work For" list is limited to organizations registered and operating in Saudi Arabia with 50 or more employees excluding top management. Last year eXtra ranked fifth in the Top 5 and has developed their capabilities to offer the best for their employees and this is demonstrated by ranking 1st this year. __
