The Ministry of Justice has offered overtime to a number of court judges and employees in different parts of the Kingdom to work in evening sessions. The move is aimed at ending the backlog of criminal and civil status cases, according to comments made by Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Gini, chief of Jeddah General Court. Al-Gini expressed his thanks to Muhammad Al-Issa, Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council, for his continued support and efforts to speed up legal proceedings, especially for prisoners. He said the ministry had approved payment of overtime, effective this month, for all judges and court employees who have been assigned to work in the evening session. He added that public notaries, tasked to work in the evening to finish administrative work such as processing of title deeds, will also be paid overtime. __
