The president of the Saudi Girls' University announced a plan to train 40,000 female students with the skills needed for success in the private sector, reported Asharq Al-Awsat, Wednesday. President of the Saudi Girls' University, Al-Jawhara Bint Fahd Bin Saud said the plan, will start at the beginning of the next academic year. It followed the success of a similar program, which trained 2,365 women at the Riyadh Girls' University to be competitive in the market. Al-Jawahara said the training programs are important because the education students receive at the university is not enough for them to meet the requirements of the job market. A budget of SR4 million has been allocated to create five training courses related to marketing, customer service, English, communication and investment, she said. The university management has included the program in its plans for the next four years. English and computer literacy are core features of each training course. In order to facilitate the training six local training centers will participate in training the students, Al-Jawahara said. She said the university will work with regional organizations to provide technical training for students.
