Lito Santos and Mike Montanier clinched their fourth victory at the expense of Leo Taris and Amir Tan at the LBC 10-ball Billiards Doubles Tournament in Batha here recently.
Santos and Montanier recorded a 4-0 win-loss card. The duo were the first team to advance in the winners' bracket and also gained a seat in the semifinals assuring them second or third place in the contest.
The winners opened the first two racks with a win (2-0), but Amir Tan fired back pocketing the 10th ball from an open shot, 1-2. The fourth match showed equal billiards talents between the teams until Santos of the winning side was gifted an easy shot for the win, 3-1. Leo Taris and Amir Tan regained their composure and responded with two straight wins to level the score at 3-3 going into the seventh rack. Lito Santos realized the situation and pulled off a win in the seventh rack to grab the lead at 4-3. Both teams exchanged equal fires in the eight rack but the winners eventually went for the kill, with Santos pocketing the 10th ball via a long shot ending the match at 5-3.
