GE to train Saudis for energy jobs

General Electric Co. recently signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) to establish a technical academy in Dammam that will elevate the skills of Saudi engineers and technicians in the energy industry.
The academy aims to annually train 150 Saudi technical graduates in key areas such as maintenance and repair of gas turbines, electrical motors and generators that are critical to electricity generation in the Kingdom.
“TVTC is proud to team up with GE,” said Ali Al-Ghafis, TVTC Governor.
“GE's long-term commitment... is manifested in the initiation of the academy,” said Joseph Anis, president and CEO of GE Energy in the Middle East. __
