Okaz newspaper A CAMPAIGN titled “The National Day to Invade Dwelling Places of Jinn” was recently launched by a group of young men who identified several places in the Kingdom allegedly haunted by Jinn. One of the places the group identified was Riyadh's abandoned Araqa hospital. Much has been said about the group's claims but what I want to know is what happened to the “human Jinn” who abandoned the fully equipped hospital some 20 years ago? The hospital is situated in an attractive location and I'm sure the Ministry of Health could use the extra space the building can provide. Despite its condition, why not turn the building into a rehabilitation center? This will certainly solve the problem of housing patients who require long term care and it will save the government a lot of money as it is often forced to hand over the responsibility of caring for such patients to the private sector. If the so-called Jinn occupying the hospital were able to answer my questions, then it would be very easy to summon them. But who will summon the “human Jinn” who are responsible for this hospital being abandoned? Twenty years have passed and summoning them to reveal the reasons behind the abandonment of this building is next to impossible. Regardless, I hope the Ministry of Health does something and finally puts the building to some use. __
