The Sharafiya police are questioning a girl who witnessed the murder of her cousin by a 30-year-old Saudi man in an apartment on Sitteen Street here Monday afternoon. The girl with her 24-year-old cousin had come to visit her aunt, who allegedly ran a brothel in her flat. After meeting their aunt the girls went to the flat of the Saudi man in the same building. They were with the man for about an hour when an altercation broke out between him and the girl's cousin, according to the police account. The man suspected that the girl was having relationship with someone else, said Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Sawat, an officer with the police patrol who arrived at the scene of the crime. The argument grew uglier and the man tried to attack the girls. So the girls tried to flee by pushing the man, who fell down. But he fired at the escaping girl. The bullet hit her in the back of the head. Then he pointed the trigger toward himself and fired another shot. The girl died on the spot, but the killer was critically injured. The other girl fled to another room and started shouting for help from the window. The apartment reception called the police. When the police arrived at the scene, a man on the street tried to block their way by shouting “sisters, sisters,” and pointing toward the apartment. He was, however, overpowered and arrested. It was later found out that he was not related to the girls, said Al-Sawat. The murderer is now in ICU. The girl and her aunt are in police custody. The aunt told the police that she did not know anything about the crime or the man or what kind of relationship they had. __
