The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah successfully conducted its first Post Arrival Orientation Seminar (PAOS) for a group of more than 70 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) working in Danube Company at the company's accommodation in Mersal Village recently. The consulate was assisted by officials from Kaagapay ng Bawat OFW Advocacy Group that organized the orientation seminar. Vice Consul Rodney Jonas Sumague lead the consulate team. Sumague along with Labor Attaché Alejandro Inza Cruz from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office and Welfare Officer Segundino Coretico of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration discussed several of the Kingdom's laws and its culture and traditions in order to keep the OFWs informed of their rights, benefits and privileges, as well as their responsibilities while temporarily residing in the Kingdom as guest workers. Sumague also provided information on the various programs and consular services offered by the Consulate General and urged all OFWs to exercise their right to vote by participating in the ongoing overseas absentee voting registration. Attendees commended the seminar and urged the consulate to continue holding informative sessions. __
