Alsamh Special to Saudi Gazette SAO PAULO — The carcass of an old Boeing 737, that once belonged to the now bankrupt Brazilian airline VASP, got stuck on the streets of Sao Paulo this week after being sold in an auction. Sold for R$140,000 ($71,174) in February, the remains of the 737 jet were being moved Thursday night from Congonhas airport to a 13,000 square-meter lot in a rural area outside the city by its buyer Edinei Capistrano, 57, a pilot of private jets. He plans to build an area for events, like weddings and parties, around the plane. Hoisted onto a flat-bed truck, the fuselage of the 737, minus its wings, was being maneuvered through the streets of Sao Paulo at one o'clock in the morning, when a light on top of it kept getting caught in overhead power lines, according to the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper. This made the movement of the plane very slow, moving only 100 meters in the first hour. Technicians from the local power company were at hand to help with the transport of the plane through the city, but even so the plane became entangled in overhead power and cable TV lines. Measuring 32 meters in length, 5.15 meters in height, 4.10 meters in width and weighing 50 tons, the plane was extremely difficult to maneuver through the empty streets. __
