Presidential-hopeful Abul Ezz Al-Hariri said he was absolutely certain that the People's Assembly would be dissolved by the end of this year. He expected that new parliamentary elections will be held at the end of this year and censured the Muslim Brotherhood Organization for wanting to control Egypt. The first round of the elections due to be held this May 23 won't decide the winner of the elections. On whether the Islamic parties will continue to achieve continued success, Al-Hariri said the popularity of the Muslim Brotherhood has been on the decline and latest figures attest to it. When asked about the reasons behind his certainty that the People's Assembly will be dissolved by the end of this year, he added, “People who pay more get elected and those who have no money get no chance. Corruption and chaos had gripped the election process.” Al-Hariti believes that Hazem Abu Ismail (another candidate) should be honest with the Egyptian people and tell them of his mother's USA citizenship, which breaches the constitutional requirements for nomination. About his visit with the Egyptian delegation to the Kingdom, he said he did not accompany the delegation as a presidential nominee but in his capacity as the president of the parliamentary commission. He was pleased by the words of Prince Saud Al-Faisal to the delegation. Al-Hariri charges that foreign powers trying to disrupt the security and political situation in Egypt. “The situation is worse than the tragic situation of June 1967 during the war. At the time, we all got together after the defeat and decided to reconstruct our country but today things are different.” He said that what was happening tat present was rigged elections and false winners, as some interested parties do not want a democratic rule or regime in Egypt. Besides, a strong Egypt means a weaker Israel and less influence American hegemony in the region, he contends. Al-Hariri believes all the resources and wealth of Egypt which have been plundered and stolen will be regained if there is a strong legislature body that penalizes corruption and criminals, and not reward and protect them. He warned, “Egypt is passing through an important juncture of history and escalation in the political situation might lead to a military coup.” __
