Election fever has gripped the large Egyptian community in the Kingdom which will cast its vote Friday at the Egyptian embassy here or at the consulate in Jeddah. The Egyptian mission has completed all the necessary arrangements for the first round of Egypt's presidential elections. The 12-hour voting process starts at 8 A.M. It is estimated that about 262,000 Egyptians will vote in person in the Kingdom. Voters also have the option of sending their vote by mail. Representatives of candidates contesting the election have arrived in the Kingdom to oversee the voting. The candidates are giving due attention to Egyptian voters in the Kingdom for they represent about 49 percent of the worldwide total of Egyptian expatriate voters. Presidential front-runners including Abdel Moneim Abul Futuh, Amr Moussa, Hamdeen Sabahi and Muhammad Mursi have already sent representatives who have toured most of the areas in Riyadh and Jeddah where a sizable number of Egyptian expatriates reside urging them to elect their candidates. According to a statement issued by the Egyptian embassy and consulate, voters are allowed to select one candidate. Representatives of the candidates are allowed to follow up and oversee the voting and sorting out procedures without intervening in the election process. The second round of the election is set for June 3-9 and final results will be announced on June 21. __
