e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, which has a lone member in Lok Sabha, has decided to support the United Progressive Alliance government in Monday's trust vote but made it clear that it was not doing it in love of America but out of its dislike for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the left. The MIM member of parliament from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi said that though his party had strong reservations about the impact of Indo-US nuclear deal on the foreign policy, it can neither vote along with the BJP nor it will help the BJP in coming to power by ousting the UPA. “Our top priority is to stop the BJP and its leader L.K. Advani from coming to power as he is the immediate and biggest adversary of our identity, our life and our development,” Owaisi said. On the nuclear deal he said that the party believes that it will have an impact on foreign policy but added that the country was badly in need of energy to overcome the problems like the power cuts which Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh were facing presently. He also lashed out at the CPI-M and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for spreading the canard that the Indian Muslims were against the nuclear deal. “They are trying to communalize the issue by playing Muslim card on an international agreement. The parties should make it clear whether the agreement was good or bad for India instead of dragging Muslims into the nuclear deal issue,” he said. __
