Four hundred young Saudis from Rabigh, Thuwal and surrounding areas who passed high school will be trained for the labor market, as per an agreement signed between King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) and the College of Business Administration (CBA) at Jeddah Hilton Tuesday. The agreement, signed by Fahd Al-Rasheed, CEO of KAEC, and Abdullah Dahlan, CBA director, in the presence of Prince Mansour Bin Nasser, advisor to King Abdullah, will see the implementation of the second phase of the Job Market Foundation Program. “Corporate social responsibility and community service are key objectives of KAEC, and the City has undertaken this role in order to contribute to educating Saudi youth,” said Al-Rasheed. “For this reason, we choose CBA as our partner, because of its high level of professionalism and use of the latest methods of education.” On his part, Abdullah Dahlan said, “Our partnership with KAEC started over two years ago in March 2010 and has proven to be successful. Graduates are equipped with the right tools and skills needed to succeed in the local and international markets. “The first phase of the Job Market Foundation Program successfully trained more than 300 high school graduates from Rabigh and Thuwal. The second phase will benefit a larger number of students and make them ready for the labor market or help them complete their university studies in CBA or any other Saudi university.” The total training program is for four months. After the first two months, students receive an English language certificate. After completing the next two months, they receive the Job Foundation Program certificate. The program also includes a career attitude (self-assessment) test to evaluate how students perform different tasks and react to different situations. The test helps to bring out students' skills and capabilities assisting them in choosing the career path best suited to them.
