disabled boy signs the Mint, Cardamom and Ginger book for visitors at Virgin Mega store in Jeddah Saturday night. — SG photo by Amer Hilabi By Saleh Fareed Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – Several families of children with mental disabilities, celebrities, authors and columnists attended the book launch of Mint, Cardamom and Ginger at Virgin Mega store here Saturday night. “The book is composed of real stories written by parents of disabled children who undergo rehabilitation at the Help Center,” said Maha Juffali, director of Help Center. “Real life stories, written and sketched by 81 members of the Help Center over the past 25 years were collected. They contain unforgettable experiences and emotions.” Saudi writer Thamer Shaker who inaugurated the book launch said it was a great idea to give families with disabled children a platform to share their stories. “The title ‘Mint, Cardamom and Ginger' may sound strange but it expresses the different feelings and remedies of emotion. The book fills us with love and affection and gives a message of hope and optimism,” Shaker said. __
