Austria's Bernd Wiesberger eased to a maiden European Tour victory in clinical style Sunday, the overnight leader keeping his pursuers at arm's length to record a five-shot victory at the Ballantine's Championship. Starting his round with a five-stroke cushion, the 26-year-old signed off with a bogey-free four-under-par 68, playing his last 59 holes at the Blackstone Golf Club win Seoul without dropping a shot to finish on 18-under for the tournament. Richie Ramsay, who closed with a 65, did manage to reduce the gap to three shots at one stage but never really posed a serious threat to the runaway winner, who had previously finished second twice last season. “I just tried to enjoy it and I had the three best rounds of my life,” Wiesberger told reporters. Ramsay sunk his sixth birdie of the day at the 16th to close the gap to three but the leader was unperturbed. Wiesberger came up with a glorious pitch at the 15th to eight feet, holed a 20 footer at the next and sunk a 15-foot birdie putt at the last to seal the title. Australian Marcus Fraser finished tied third at 11-under, one shot ahead of Ryder Cup veteran Miguel Angel Jimenez. Dufner stays out in front American Jason Dufner birdied two of the last four holes to take a two-shot lead in Saturday's third round of the New Orleans Classic in Avondale, Louisiana, and close in on a maiden PGA Tour victory. A stroke in front of the chasing pack overnight, journeyman Dufner broke clear of a three-way logjam late in the day as he birdied the 15th and last holes to card a five-under-par 67. The laid-back 35-year-old came close to eagling the par-five 18th for the second day in a row after hitting an exquisite second shot to 12 feet but his first putt pulled up an inch short of the cup. The tap-in birdie gave Dufner a 17-under total of 199 at the TPC Louisiana with Canadian Graham DeLaet alone in second after carding a seven-birdie 66. South African Ernie Els, a three-times major winner, birdied three of the last six holes for a 68 to lie three strokes off the pace with American John Rollins (69). British world No. 2 Luke Donald, who had battled to an opening 73, was delighted to finish the round five strokes off the lead having followed Friday's 65 with a seven-birdie 66. Lewis stretches LPGA lead In Mobile, Alabama, Stacy Lewis extended her lead in the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic Saturday, firing seven birdies in a five-under 67 that gave her a two-shot lead over Brittany Lincicome going into the final round. After two birdies and two bogeys on the front nine of the par-72 The Crossings course, Lewis – who led by one after the second round – caught fire coming in with five birdies in the space of six holes. Back-to-back birdies at 12 and 13 were followed by three in a row from the 15th as Lewis built a 54-hole toal of 14-under par 202. Lincicome also posted a five-under 67 for her 12-under total of 204. France's Karine Icher posted a 68 that included an eagle on the par-five 13th for sole possession of third on 205. South Korea's Sun Young Yoo and Australian Lindsey Wright both carded 69s to share fourth on 206. Six others, including Australian Hall of Famer Karrie Webb were within five shots of Lewis. Webb carded a 64 to lead a group on 207 that also included teen phenom Lexi Thompson (66).
