Flyhalf Peter Grant scored the only second-half try in the 49th minute and kicked a shaky conversion to help give the Stormers a 17-3 win over the Western Force in a rain-drenched Super 15 rugby match Saturday. The Cape Town-based Stormers led 7-3 at halftime before Grant's try and his subsequent conversion which clanged off the right goalpost into successful two-point territory for the visitors. It was the third win in four away matches for the Stormers, who have eight wins in nine matches. Chiefs beat Hurricanes In hamilton, prop Sona Taumalolo added to a remarkable try-scoring record, touching down for the seventh time in nine matches as the Waikato Chiefs beat the Wellington Hurricanes 33-14. Flyhalf Aaron Cruden kicked 18 points and played a part in creating Taumalolo's match-winning try as the Chiefs posted their eighth straight win to remain at the top of the championship table after 10 rounds. Taumalolo burrowed over the Hurricanes' goal line in the 65th minute after Cruden had made a 40-meter break to put the Chiefs hot onto attack. Cruden also had a hand in Waikato's final try, to Taumalolo's replacement Toby Smith, extending a winning streak which stretches back to the first week of the season. Toulon in final England fly-half Jonny Wilkinson kicked a last-minute, long-distance drop goal to give Toulon a thrilling 32-29 victory over Stade Francais Friday and a place in the European Challenge Cup final. Wilkinson finished the game with a 27-point haul, from seven penalties and two drop goals, but the man who famously kicked a World Cup-winning drop goal in 2003 as the clock ticked down, saved his best again to last. With the scores level at 29-29, Wilkinson was fed clean ball just inside the Stade half and unleashed a mighty winning pot at goal which flew straight between the uprights.
