Champions League finalist Chelsea has signed German international midfielder Marko Marin from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, the Premier League club confirmed Saturday. The 23-year-old will join Chelsea at the end of the season after agreeing terms and German magazine Sport-Bild report he has signed a five-year deal to keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2017 for an undisclosed fee. “Chelsea is my dream club,” the winger told Sport-Bild. “I'm happy that I get the chance to play for them. It is a challenge for me. “Tottenham Hotspur were also interested, but I opted for Chelsea, because they suit me well.” Marin has 16 caps for Germany and played twice at the 2010 World Cup, coming on as a substitute in matches against Australia and Serbia, but has not played for the national team since November 2010. He is not expected to be included in Joachim Loew's squad for Euro 2012. Marin joined Bremen from Borussia Moenchengladbach for 8.5 million euros in 2009. Redknapp was interested in Tevez Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp admits he failed in an audacious bid to sign Manchester City's Carlos Tevez in January. Redknapp revealed he made inquiries about signing the Argentina striker after a highly-publicised falling-out with City manager Roberto Mancini in the wake of his apparent refusal to come off the bench at Bayern Munich last September. Redknapp said that despite having doubts whether Spurs could afford Tevez's wage demands, he asked Spurs chairman Daniel Levy about trying to sign him. “I said to the chairman ‘can you get me Carlos Tevez?',” said Redknapp. “Daniel made some enquiries, but it wasn't doable. If he could have done it, he would have. Levy would have loved Tevez, but it wasn't possible because his wages are £200,000 a week. It's not possible at Tottenham to buy him.
